Salary Calculator India
Estimate take-home salary from annual CTC with basic, HRA, PF, professional tax, and TDS assumptions shown. Actual salary varies by company policy — not payroll advice.
CTC → in-hand
Monthly and annual figures are both shown. Change only CTC if the defaults match a typical offer.
Required. The yearly cost your employer quotes.
No PF wage ceiling is applied.
Calculated remainder: ₹4,70,400 a year. Leave this blank to keep it.
Professional tax
Editable. State rules differ, so this is a flat monthly amount.
Default 0. Added to tax and to annual net, not to every month’s recurring in-hand.
Tax regime for the TDS estimate
Default 0. Ignored in the new regime.
Default 0. Self and family, under-60 cap.
Leave blank to use the tax estimate ÷ 12. Fill this only if payroll already told you the monthly TDS.

Monthly TDS is the FY 2025-26 tax estimate divided by 12. It is not a flat 5% of gross.
Estimate only. Real in-hand depends on employer structure, PF ceiling, PT state rules, investment proofs and payroll TDS. Not a payslip.

Guides, tips & FAQ
Methodology
- Basic defaults to 40% of annual CTC. HRA defaults to 40% of basic. Special allowance is whatever is left, unless you type an override.
- “CTC includes employer PF” is on by default. Employer PF (12% of basic) is part of the CTC cost and is not added to your gross earnings. Turn it off if your CTC figure is only basic + allowances, and employer PF sits on top.
- Employee PF defaults to 12% of basic and is deducted from in-hand. The EPF wage ceiling is not applied, so PF here can be higher than the statutory ₹1,800 a month cap.
- Professional tax defaults to ₹200 a month. State rules differ. Change the amount to match your payroll.
- Bonus is added to taxable income and to annual net. Monthly recurring in-hand does not treat the bonus as a regular month’s salary. Tax on the bonus is included in the monthly TDS estimate.
- TDS uses the FY 2025-26 (AY 2026-27) income-tax estimator, new regime by default, with the salary standard deduction (₹75,000 new, ₹50,000 old) when that toggle is on. 80C and 80D start at zero and are ignored under the new regime. Monthly TDS is that annual tax divided by 12. A manual monthly TDS replaces it in the in-hand figure only.
- Simple mode does not exempt HRA. Advanced mode uses the least of actual HRA, rent minus 10% of basic, and 50% of basic in a metro (40% otherwise). Basic stands in for basic + DA.
- Not covered: ESOP, gratuity, LTA against bills, employer NPS under section 80CCD(2), the PF wage ceiling, and old-regime slabs for age 60 or above.

Frequently Asked Questions
What the salary estimate includes
The calculator starts from annual CTC. Unless you override them, basic is 40% of CTC, HRA is 40% of basic, and special allowance is the remainder. With “CTC includes employer PF” on, employer PF at 12% of basic stays inside CTC and is not paid out as salary. Employee PF is 12% of basic with no wage ceiling applied. Professional tax defaults to ₹200 a month. Monthly TDS is the FY 2025-26 income-tax estimate divided by 12, not a flat percentage.
It is not a payslip. ESOP, gratuity, LTA against bills, and employer NPS under section 80CCD(2) are not included. The old-regime age band is assumed to be under 60. Turn on advanced HRA only if you pay rent and want that exemption estimated.
How to use it
- Enter annual CTC and choose whether that figure already includes employer PF.
- Override basic, HRA, or special allowance if your offer letter uses different ratios.
- Compare the in-hand estimate with the line items. PF and professional tax are deductions, not cash paid to you.
- Use the income-tax calculator if you want a fuller old-versus-new regime comparison.
