Converters
Unit converters, word counter, JSON formatter, and measurement tools.
What the converter pages do
The live converters are the unit converter (length, weight, temperature, volume), the word counter, the JSON formatter, and the currency converter. Older “kg to lb” style URLs redirect to the unit converter. JSON formatting only changes whitespace; invalid JSON shows the parse error. The word counter splits words on whitespace.
Currency conversion is the exception to fully offline tools. It loads European Central Bank reference rates through the Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.dev). Those rates update on business days and are not a bank or card quote. If the request fails, the page shows an error instead of inventing a rate. A fresh quote can sit in sessionStorage for about an hour.
How to use it
- For units, words, or JSON, open that tool and type or paste the input. Those three stay on your device.
- For money, enter an amount and two currency codes. Wait until the rate date is shown before you trust the figure.
- Read the rate date on the currency result. It is a reference rate, not the price your bank will charge.
- If you needed a single pair such as kilograms to pounds, use the unit converter and pick those units.
Unit, word, and JSON inputs stay in the browser. The currency tool sends a request for public reference rates. It does not send your amount as a payment, and it does not ask for a bank login.
Questions
Why might the currency figure differ from my bank?
Does formatting JSON change values?
Are the old /convert/kg-to-lb pages separate tools?
Why choose these tools?
Unit, word, and JSON tools run in your browser. The currency converter requests public reference rates and does not take a bank login.
