How to convert images to WebP or JPEG
Convert PNG/JPEG to WebP, or WebP back to JPEG using Canvas — no upload. Follow these steps in the workspace above:
- Choose a mode: Select To WebP to create WebP from PNG, JPEG, GIF, or BMP, or WebP → JPG to export a WebP file as JPEG.
- Upload your image: Drop a file into the dashed area or click to browse. Files up to 20 MB are supported; processing stays on your device.
- Set quality: Use the quality slider (0.5–1.0) for lossy WebP or JPEG export. Higher values keep more detail and produce larger files.
- Convert: Click Convert to run the Canvas encode/decode step in your browser.
- Download: Preview the result, check original vs new file size, then download when you are ready.

Modern Chromium, Firefox, and Safari can decode WebP. Encoding WebP may be unavailable in some older browsers.
