Join a Photo and Signature into One JPG

Put a photo and a signature on one JPEG. Set the pixels and KB yourself — this page does not store an official exam size.

Check your exam or portal notice for layout, pixels, and the maximum KB. UPSC and SSC publish separate photo and signature rules, and those numbers change. The sizes below are starting points only.

Starting sizes only, not an SSC, UPSC, or other official specification. The JPEG stays under 98% of the KB target × 1,000 bytes.

What the photo and signature joiner does

Some application forms ask for one JPEG that contains the photograph and the signature. Others want two files. This page builds the single image: photo on top and signature below, or the two side by side, on a white background. You can crop each source, align them, and add a short name or date line. The download is a JPEG kept under a size you set, using the same portal-safe byte cap as the 20 KB, 50 KB, and 100 KB photo tools: 98 percent of the target times 1,000 bytes.

This page does not store official exam presets. UPSC’s photograph and signature instructions and SSC’s photo FAQ describe separate uploads, and the pixel and KB numbers change by notification. A combined file for a state exam, a university, or a recruitment portal can be different again. Set the width, height, and KB from the notice in front of you. The starting sizes on the page are only convenient defaults, not a claim that any board asked for them. If the notice wants two files, use the passport or KB photo tool and Resize Signature instead of this joiner.

Both images are read in the browser. The signature’s near-white background is dropped so a phone photo of ink on paper does not become a grey rectangle. If the result looks soft, raise the KB target or the pixel size. Aggressive compression is what makes a face hard to recognise. Check the JPEG at full size, confirm the file size in your file manager, and only then upload it.

How to use it

  1. Read the current notice for layout, pixels, and the maximum KB. Do not assume a default on this page matches it.
  2. Add the photo and the signature. Crop away extra background. Choose stacked or side by side, and the alignment.
  3. Set the width, height, and target KB. Add a name or date only if the form asks for text on the image.
  4. Download the JPEG, confirm the file size and the crop, and upload that file. Keep the originals until the form accepts it.

The photo and signature are processed in this browser tab. They are not uploaded.

Questions

Are the default pixels an official SSC or UPSC size?
No. Those boards publish their own photograph and signature rules, usually as two separate files, and the numbers change. Copy the size from your notice.
Why is the JPEG under the KB number I typed, not exactly that number?
The target is a ceiling. The tool stops at 98 percent of N×1000 bytes, the same cap as the other KB photo tools, so a portal that counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes is less likely to reject it.
Can I use this when the form wants two uploads?
No. Use the photo KB tool and Resize Signature separately. Joining them would make a file the form did not ask for.

Supported formats

JPEG, PNG, WebP

Limitations

  • No official exam preset is stored. Copy pixels and KB from your own notice.
  • Output is JPEG under the KB target, using the same 98% of N×1000 byte cap as the other photo tools.
  • Near-white signature pixels are made transparent. A dark background may still show.
